Embryo Transfer
Recent research has shown that frozen embryo transfer (FET) provides a higher success rate compared to fresh embryo transfer (performed in the same cycle as ovarian stimulation). This is because, during a frozen cycle, the body has time to restore hormonal balance after undergoing ovarian stimulation.
Steps of the Frozen Embryo Transfer Procedure
Begin endometrial preparation medication on day 2 of the menstrual cycle.
Perform a transvaginal ultrasound to assess the thickness and structure of the endometrium.
Start progesterone medication once the endometrial thickness reaches 7–8 mm or more and shows a distinct trilaminar pattern.
Schedule the SEET / 2-Stage procedure and embryo transfer date: For patients using the SEET or 2-Stage technique, the SEET/first stage is performed on days 2–3 after starting progesterone, and the embryo transfer is performed on day 5 after starting progesterone.
